Vharin — ambientazione cinematografica

THE VEYR CAPITAL

Vharin

A capital rebuilt over the place where a people were meant to vanish.

Vharin is the capital of Sareth Mor and the living centre of Veyr political memory. Here the Night of Closed Gates took place: a sealed city, poisoned wells, burning sanctuaries and archives attacked to destroy names and lineage. The city that exists now was rebuilt over those losses, not freed from them.

The archives are part of the state.

Vharin preserves crypts, ruined arches, names and ritual spaces that survive as evidence. Memory is not limited to commemoration. For the Veyr, true names, blood-line records and the study of Return bear on identity and biological survival, so a record can carry the weight of a law.

The great houses exercise distinct responsibilities from Sareth Mor: Varess maintains memory and rites; Velkar organizes military security; Ilyen studies blood and degeneration; Orvane manages diplomatic and information networks. The city brings these functions into political contact.

Vharin — cinematic setting

A city of survivors, not only the Returned.

The destruction of old Sareth was vast but not absolute. Refugees and isolated human communities maintained a continuity of life through the centuries, alongside the First Veyr and those later Returned. The modern state did not arise from an empty tomb: it rests on people who endured, moved, worked and rebuilt.

Vharin is therefore a source of legitimacy and a warning. Its records prove an atrocity, yet the political system that protects them can itself become coercive. That tension is why the capital cannot be reduced to a beautiful ruin or an innocent monument.

Closed Gates

The concentrated massacre at Vharin is distinct from the wider Eastern Pacification across Sareth.

Memory and ritual

Archives, true names and rites preserve both political identity and practical Veyr survival.

A reconstructed capital

Sareth Mor is a living state founded by survivors as well as the Veyr, not a city of ghosts.
