THE BLACKMERE FILES · THE WORLD BEHIND THE MYSTERY

THE WORLD
OF BLACKMERE

A house a child remembers without ever visiting. A pediatric ward that survives in fragments of records. An archive whose truth could change the lives built around it.

EVERY FILE HAS A PLACE OF ORIGIN

Not a haunting.
A trail of evidence.

Blackmere first appears as a name in photographs, property records and clinical papers. Following it means looking beyond a single house—and noticing how ordinary institutions can preserve a secret long after the people involved have gone.

THREE PLACES. THREE UNANSWERED QUESTIONS.

The geography of a secret.

01 · THE HOUSE

A child draws a house.

Mara Ellaby is nine years old. Her drawings seem to know Blackmere House, although she has never been there. Dr. Elianor Vale begins with a familiar professional question: where could a child have encountered these details?

A house can look ordinary and still hold more than one version of its own history.

02 · WARD SEVEN

A ward exists in the records.

In the second novel, fragments from a former pediatric ward reach people who lived through its history. Not every former patient remembers it the same way, and the surviving paperwork does not settle every disagreement.

What does a record prove when the people named in it remember differently?

03 · THE ARCHIVE

Who has the right to know?

The final novel follows the question of an archive containing private lives. Preserving evidence is not the same thing as respecting the people whose histories it holds. The choice to disclose a record can have consequences.

Truth matters. So does the person whose life it describes.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE FILES

No case exists without witnesses.

These four lives draw the reader into Blackmere. Their stories are presented here without the later revelations of the trilogy.

Dr. Elianor Vale

A child psychologist whose careful investigation becomes harder to keep at a professional distance.

Mara Ellaby

A nine-year-old girl whose vivid account of an unfamiliar house begins the first case.

Claire Ellaby

Mara’s mother, determined to protect her daughter as the questions multiply.

Daniel Ardent

A former journalist and researcher who follows what the records leave unsaid.

FOLLOW THE EVIDENCE

A pattern appears in the margins.

The trilogy returns to ordinary materials that can be copied, withheld, misread or saved. No supernatural explanation is required for a document to become unsettling.

PHOTOGRAPHS

An image preserves one moment, but its captions, copies and omissions tell another story.

RECORDS

Forms and files carry institutional authority, even when their account of a life is incomplete.

LETTERS

A private message can connect the present to a history others would rather keep closed.

BEYOND THE FIRST CASE

A larger story emerges.

Blackmere House, Ward Seven and the final archive belong to one interconnected trilogy. Each volume stands as a mystery in its own right while giving the next story a deeper question to ask.

Follow the Three Books

The past does not need a ghost to leave a trace.
